None of the recruitment processes I have attended, started on specified time. So even if you are late due to some reason don't get tensed. Keep in mind what you prepared and proceed with confidence. Your performance is what matters. But remember, if not this we get another chance. Just try your luck.

NeSTGroup Recruitment at CEC <2011>
Hello friends, I got placed in NeST, during the drive held at IHRD College of Engineering, Chengannur on 25th Feb 2011, the criterion was 65% and no standing arrears. I had 65% aggregate and so I could attend.
After reg. process, there was corporate presentation, after that written test
There were 4 or 5 category of questions, i don't remember the whole, but there was aptitude as well as tech questions. I mean verbal reasoning, quantitative aptitude, basic electronics (This section is different for CS & EE), C programming etc. The total time was 1 1/2 hours. Basic electronics is somewhat easy ,but C programming was quite difficult. English and aptitude were somewhat easy, but the most important thing is time management. Only 20-25 were selected for interview.
I was the first one for interview, already knew that its gonna be 'tech interview', at first they asked some introductory questions such as fathers name, place etc, be confident to answer any question, if u dont know the answer just say that.
I couldn't answer at-least 10-15 questions. One question was: What motor is used in ceiling fan. I answered 'induction motor'. Seminar and project activities are of prime importance, they will ask the nook and corner of seminar and projects. They may shoot some random electronics questions also, b confident that is important. If u don't know anything just smile and say don't know. All the best.

NeSTGroup Recruitment at NeST Technopark, Trivandrum <2011>

Verbal Section:-
One question was-For this time-----do it.But you------not repeat it. You get '4 options' for these two blanks together. There were another nine more questions of same type. Another '5 questions' were based on '2 passages'.
Quantitative Aptitude:-
Questions of type: Find odd one, find next in series, pie-chart questions, questions based on passage (logical reasoning) and syllogisms were mainly asked.
C Programming:-
Questions of type: Find output of given code, Find output of flowchart (3 questions) and most of other questions were to find the correct code from given options for the question given. One such question was to find the code for finding all 3-digit prime numbers. Among the four given options, three had 'for-loop', fourth option was 'None of these'. For this question which occupied more than half-a-page, only one option had for loop' which work from 100 to 999 covering the entire three digit range which is necessary. So finding the answer require not even understanding the logic given in answers. The case was similar in other such questions also.
Basic Electronics:-
1. Transformer used in Foster-Seeley Discriminator.
Options: Double Tuned, Single Tuned, 1:1, None of these
2. For which circuit voltage-current relationship remains same in either directions.
    Options: Linear, Active, Passive, Bilateral
3. What will be the result if in an 8-bit system 25 is left shifted 5 times.
4. What is the process of adding impurities to an intrinsic semiconductor called.
5. Simplify: (AB(bar)+C)D(bar)+E(bar).
I think the correct option was 'None of these'
6. Output impedance of an ideal operational amplifier.
    Answer: Zero
7. Which method is used to find difference between number of poles and zeros of a transfer equation.
Options: Bode Plot, Routh-Hurwitz Criterion, Root Locus Method
8. Hall effect is seen only in.
Options: Metals, Intrinsic SC, N-type SC, P-type SC
9. What happen if RESET IN (active low) pin is affected. (I forgot name of micro-processor/controller)
Options: Set to 0, Set to 1, Sets memory to 0, Sets memory to 1
10. By what factor the power requirement decrease if the carrier and one side band is suppressed in an AM
      transmission.
      Options: 2, 4, 6, 10
There were 10 more questions in this section.
Time given was 1 hour for 85 questions.

L&T Recruitment at Model Engineering College <2011>
Selection Process->>Written Test>GD>Interview

Written Test consists of 4 sections:-
General Aptitude; Find odd and Find next in series; Technical; Mechanical; Essay on  given topic
The aptitude questions are pretty simple.
Technical Section contains questions based on basics of your trade in B.Tech. Somewhat simple.
Mechanical Questions are also simple. Most of these could be answered if you studied Mechatronics.
<<For Mechatronics Textbook See the 'Study Materials' Page>>
For essay the 3 topics given were (max 200 words):-
I took 'Influence of Movies on Youth'
There was sectional cutoff for Written Test. People shortlisted were divided into groups for GD. For GD, each in a group was asked to tell their comment on a given topic. Our topic was 'West or India good for job opportunities'. After GD they evaluated the essay of written test. But they did not shortlist here.

Interview:-
First was Technical.
Questions include:
Questions related to circuits of 555 multivibrator, PLL etc.
How will you keep a room at 60 degree constant temperature, using room heater.
8086 microprocessor architecture.
Write a program using 'STA' command to store a data to accumulator of 8085.

Then after shortlisting there was only around 20 (about 210 attended the recruitment), we had HR interview.
He was looking for how I speak english, He asked to tell something about him (interviewer).

When you prepare stick to the basics. They don't look for direct answers (so don't by heart). In my opinion it will be better if you don't study anything additional, it may makes you more confident as you
wont be thinking 'O God I haven't studied this n that.
Good Luck.
